World – No-Tobacco –Day is observed around the World every year on May 31.It is meant to encourage a 24 hour abstinence from all forms of tobacco across the globe. The World Health Assembly created World-No-Tobacco-Day in 1987.The global tobacco epidemic kills nearly 6 million people each year, of which more than 600 000 are people exposed to second-hand smoke. In Australia, smoking kills around 15,500 people every year. In fact, the government of Australia is currently refusing tobacco. The Australian Government has given local councils legal powers to make outdoor areas smoke free. In addition, they want to end smoking in public dining and drinking areas, transports stops, pedestrian malls and on beaches. Everyone seems to be happy because the majority of people do not want to be around a smoke or have their children around someone smoking.
