Moter's Day

Mother’s Day is observed annually  in Australian on the second Sunday of May. Mother’s Day is not pablic holiday. The restaurants and cafe may be busier than usual because most  people take their mothers out for lunch. Flowers, chocolates and cards   are popular gifts to symbolize one’s love and appreciation for their mothers. Some mams get  breakfast in bed.  Mother’s Day is celebrated in different countries. It is not just  for mothers, it is a  day for stepmothers, mother figures female, relatives and close family friends. Julia Ward Home was the first to proclaim Mother’s Day in 1870.Her Mother’s Day was a pacifist reaction to the American Civil War. The modern holiday of Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in America. Australia Mother’s Day was started by Mrs Janet Heyden in 1924.She began the tradition during a visit to a patient of the Newington State Home for Woman, where she meet many lonely and forgotten mothers. In my country, Ukraine, Mother’s Day is a public holiday and celebrated on 8thMarch.
